“People and Places We Will Never Forget” is about 45 minutes long total, but there is a limit to the video length I can upload. So I am breaking it into Parts. This is part 2
This movie is apparently a summer vacation trip that starts in West Virginia (I think) and goes to Myrtle Beach, SC and back to West Virginia or Ohio at the end.
- Who are the people?
- What do you remember? What do you feel watching it again
This is Jim Crump’s house on the Ohio River in Hartford WV. The house was part of the underground rail road during the civil war (the war of northern aggression). Jim showed me the hiding place for the runaway slaves in the floor of one of the upstairs closets and downstairs you could not tell the ceiling was dropped down. His wife’s name was Virginia and she was deaf and almost blind. she always carried a pad and pencil and you had to write her notes and she would hold the paper very close to her eye like 6″ away. Grandpa and Grandma Lewis are in there also mother. Jim was a school teacher and was part of the Brannen family I think.
