This is the Plants Reunion in 1956. I am going to need help identifying people in this one. I recognize some, but not all by a long shot. Please make a note of the time on the video and describe the person when you say who you see. It will take a little longer, but it will be oh so much better for the rest of us.
I hope this is meaningful to lots of people for a long long time. This is history.
This is Thanksgiving 1956. I believe it is my grandparents, Preston & Bernice Anderson and family along with Preston’s brother, Clovis and his family. Clovis’s wife is Juanita and their son is Roger.
This is my dad’s family: Preston and Bernice Anderson and their sons, Larry (18) and Dave (8 1/2).
This is my dad’s high school graduation from Point Pleasant High School. 1956.
Dad, What do you remember about your graduation day?
I remember my graduation (not the one in this home movie) at Guilliard Municipal Auditorium in downtown Charleston. After the ceremony, we were all standing near the back door and you looked at me and announced that I was now a man. Then you lifted my curfew. At the time, I thought it was silly. Now as I look back, I realize that it was an important thing for you to say to me. There are some statements that a boy needs to hear from his dad. I believe it was as important for you as it was for me. I want to say, Thank You. I love you.
